Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color at Watsons

A gem sometimes pops up when I’m browsing the Watsons shelves but a whole row of them greeted me from the Sally Hansen display when I was there a couple of days ago. ;)

Gem Crush is the brand’s collection of blingtastic polishes whose ‘full coverage glitter formula turns nails into jewelry that stays on wherever you go’.

I purchased Showgirl Chic: Composed of intense silver glitter interspersed with round – bigger – aqua sparkles, it is slightly reminiscent of Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream, only less candy-like.

This look was accomplished in less than half an hour, including base coat and top coat. The two Gem Crush coats that I applied set fairly quickly. Scrangie recommends 3 coats for these and I’ll have to agree with her – 2 coats aren’t enough for complete opacity.

This polish has a gritty feel, so you will need a nice gel-like top coat to achieve a glossy smoothness.

In Singapore, these glitter-fest gems retail at S$15.90. I paid S$12.70 for my polish, thanks to a 20% discount at Watsons. :)

Ooh pretty glitter! I’ve become rather obsessed with glitter polish of late (as you know :) )

      Hi Sam,

Loved the blue glitter as soon as I saw it strewn within the silver! :D You NEED it!

Very nice range of polishes :) Not sure if they’re in M’sia or not.

      Hi Milktea,

But a couple of colours didn’t come in, I believe. I don’t see Big Money, a pale gold.

Thought you might be interested to know… Watsons also just brought in a couple of new Revlon nail polishes: the Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel range ($13.90 each), and the Crackle duos ($9.00 each). Just spotted these at Tampines Mall. :)
