A lightweight stain with a glossy shine, the new L’Oréal Shine Caresse lip colours promise 6 hours of continuous hydration.
Formulated with a blend of hydrating oils and concentrated pigments, they are composed of 30% water and 60% oil.
Made in China, 8 ‘baby-doll shades’ are available here: 600 Venus, 603 Milady, 604 Bella, 605 Eve, 606 Lolita, 702 Juliette, 801 Princess, 900 Pretty Woman
In France, 18 shades are available.
Comparisons will invariably be drawn between these drugstore offerings and the popular Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Vernis À Lèvres aka Glossy Stains, especially given that they both have the same parent company.
Above are Venus, Milady, Eve and Princess.
I swatched Milady, Eve and Princess alongside YSL Glossy Stain No. 22. As you can see, the YSL is more pigmented and lustrous.
Their doe-foot applicators differ too. Above are the Shine Caresse ones.
They are wider than those of the Glossy Stains which are narrower and more tapered.
Though the Shine Caresse shades are sheerer, they both stain just as well.
In Singapore, these new lip colours retail at S$18.90. Do visit Sarah’s and Verlyn’s blogs to see their lovely photos of the entire range.
