Designed to be suitable for all skin types, this gel-crème moisturiser contains chia seed* water, which purportedly holds 10 times the amount of moisture for its given weight.
It’s described as ‘freshly germinated chia seeds in water drops’, though there are no gritty bits at all in this cream. It also contains chamomile to soothe the skin.
Despite its gel-like composition, it feels quite dense – one would not find it hard to believe its moisture-holding claims. It has an immediate hydrating effect and it reminds me of Laneige Water Sleeping Pack and Biotherm Aquasource, right down to the filmy after-feel. However, it is just a touch denser than those popular moisturisers.
My skin looks plumped up the morning after, and clearer. However, this product carries a strong scent; an almost-cloying green tea fragrance that’s very noticeable. If you’re averse to perfumed skincare, I’d caution you to try a sample of this face cream before splurging on it. While it does have a nice plumping effect, I’ll most likely pass it on to a friend as it is too heavily-fragranced for my liking.
