A layered creation from Francois Demachy, Dior Homme is a powdery woody-floral with a musky overtone.
Olfactory notes include lavender of Vaucluse, Tuscan iris absolute and Haitian vetiver.
The unusual inclusion of iris, rarely found in men’s scents, exemplifies the brand’s spirit of blending tradition with modernity. Yet it is, as Dior declares, ‘resolutely masculine’ – though the iris accent adds a softer dimension to the jus, the fragrance has a decidedly manly whiff. I love it on my hubby!
The face of this scent is Robert Pattinson, whose broodiness, perfected in his Twilight role, works brilliantly for the ad campaign. Smouldering and sexy, his frolics with French model Camille Rowe are set to the soundtrack of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love.
And here’s a behind-the-scenes video of the commercial. The film might seem a touch affected at parts but it’s great to see the candid, let’s-do-it verve of the actors!
In Singapore, this scent retails at S$95 (50 ml) and S$134 (100 ml).
