Created in 2008, the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge is a non-latex sponge that seems suited to blending liquid and creams on facial contours. Like the Pink Egg, this sponge fondly nicknamed the Blue Peep by beauty lovers has a rounded base and tapered end. However, the Sonia Kashuk version has a special indent that enhances grip.
A much cheaper alternative (US$9.99) to the Beautyblender (US$19.95), this sponge was difficult to find for a while – the SK shelves at Target were swept clean of them! Unlike the Pink Egg which is made in the USA, the Blue Peep is produced in China. They seem to be made of the same material but the Sonia Kashuk feels denser. That said, I’m not sure if this is because I’ve washed my Beautyblender several times. I haven’t tried my Blue Peep yet, so I’m uncertain about how it compares to the Beautyblender, application-wise. I will review it as soon as I can! :)
It did take me forever to find my SK sponge, but mine is purple. Haven't used it yet tho, but am excited to try it.
The blue peep has a sister in purple now. The SK ones are stiffer than Beauty Blender's version. I much prefer the BB one but am anxious to try out Sephora's too.

None of the three are available at our Sephoras…yet? The SK one is unlikely to be found at Sephora but the BB and Sephora one might be available in time (I hope!).
hey, how did you get your beauty blender and all these “dupes” of them? did you ship them? cos I can’t find any of them in Sephora Singapore except their own precision sponge which is 20bucks, so I was thinking if it is more worth it to get the original beauty blender instead?

Friends in the USA helped me to purchase them. I haven’t seen the Sephora one yet – you’re referring to the yellow one, right? The original BB is really worth the money. It’s the softest of them all and colour washes out very easily. :)
