I had a sneak preview of MAC To the Beach yesterday evening…
…but as you might expect, I zoomed in on that blush beauty, Marine Life!
The superfine, lightly pearlized shimmer of our To The Beach collection High-Light Powder flaunts a whimsical seahorse motif embossed into the powder. Stylishly presented in a marine-green compact with see-through window. Limited edition.
Although it’s supposed to be a highlighting powder, the brightening portion is only about a third of the pan. It really is a blush and quite a pigmented one, at that! ;)
The gold overspray pretty much gives way to the coral base after a swipe or two. Nonetheless, the glimmer is lovely while it lasts. I know many MAC collectors will probably leave it pristine to cherish and admire as a work of makeup art but those who plan to actually use it will be pleased to know that it swatches beautifully!
The coral itself is versatile – its intensity can be built up, making it suitable for both neutral and strong looks. The peach-pink blends easily into it for added dimension. I also love how smooth the powder feels; I’d peg the texture as being similar to that of MAC Beauty Powders.
What an inspired creation for the season. The Red Earth Ocean Treasures compacts pale in comparison to this beauty but they would be perfect complements to this master/centrepiece!
