Lancôme Blush Highlighter Illuminating Powder in 001 Moonlight Rose

Part of the Lancôme Midnight Roses colour collection by Aaron de Mey for Fall 2012, Moonlight Rose is an eye-catching illuminating compact.

I particularly like how the Lancôme rose looks like a ribbon bow, a charming modern take on the brand’s emblematic bloom.

Complexion as bright as moonlight – Like reflected moonbeams dancing on the banks of the Seine, Lancôme’s limited edition Blush Highlighter captures the unique light that bathes Paris at midnight.

Crafted with a new technology that combines a high-comfort “marshmallow” texture with an illuminating effect, this extremely fine, light-infused powder is adorned with an embossed emblematic Lancôme rose. The powder feels whisper-soft on application, leaving just a veil of sheer pearly radiance.

Can be used over the face to illuminate and give a healthy glow. Or used as a blush on the cheekbones to sculpt the face and highlight its contours.

The moon’s rays bouncing off the softly rippling waters of the River Seine is a beautiful inspiration and so apt for an illuminating product.

I haven’t tried my press piece on my face yet but preliminary swatching revealed that though iridescent, this cool champagne pink highlighter can easily be frosty, thanks to its pigmented nature and copious pearlised particles.

It’s labelled as a blush but it might be too shimmery for some people. Nevertheless, a soft look can be achieved with a light hand and gentle grazing of the pan with a fluffy or duo-fibre brush.

The 3-dimensional effect is a visual treat. This is surely one of the prettier makeup offerings of the season.

A limited edition piece, this highlighter retails at S$70 and is already available at the Lancôme counters.
