A staple for years, MAC Blot Powder is one of the brand’s best-selling and distinct items. I like that it doesn’t have heavy coverage, yet does what it’s supposed to: set a face and control the oilies without drying, caking or creasing.
To my dismay, I recently learnt that Blot Powder Loose has been discontinued (hence the double purchase). I hope MAC replaces it with something good or make Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder permanent.
With its incredibly finely-milled texture, the latter is touted to be the equivalent of a high definition powder.I usually set my makeup at home with the loose version and touch up with the pressed one. I do have a rant regarding the latter: it breaks up far too easily and I’ve had more than one disintegrate in the pan. Fortunately, all is not lost – I crush up the fragments and use the resulting mix like I would a loose powder. This isn’t ideal though, as the crushed powder is naturally not as fine as a true loose powder.
It’s wise to be gentle with this compact and not push the plastic protector too hard to get to the product.

Do you know of any close substitute for the Mac Blot powder?
Thanks =)
