Review | Skin79 Hot Pink Collection Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream SPF25 PA++

According to the bottle, this ‘triple functions’ BB cream (S$36.90) from the Skin79 BB cream family has whitening and anti-wrinkle properties, as well as UV protection (SPF25 PA++). Probably the most recognisable item from the brand, it is quite a visual treat – its shimmery hot pink hue and reflective holographic sheen courtesy of the wording make it one of the prettiest makeup receptacles I’ve ever seen.

I received this at the Skin79 preview party to review. Like many BB creams, it goes on somewhat pink-toned and has a slight grey cast. It very quickly adjusts to my skintone though and blends well into my skin. It is also somewhat fragranced but the scent is clean and floral, dissipating after a while.

It’s slightly less emollient than Kiss Me Heroine Make Essence in BB Cream SPF30 PA++ but it spreads well with a foundation brush. And believe me, a little goes a veeery long way with this brush. I sometimes buff with a sponge afterwards but laying down product with a good foundation brush first will really help you stretch this 500 g product.

The pump device is also brilliant for dispensing product without dealing with fiddly caps and it helps me to control the amount of product that comes out. Its only drawback is the cream that would inevitable sits at the entrance/edge of the nozzle – not the most hygienic or effective once it’s been exposed to the air. Nevertheless, you could get rid of it before using the fresher cream that comes after it.

Here is a photo of me with the BB cream, five hours after application. I barely had to blot – I think I only used a serviette sheet the entire time.

Although I’d applied K-Palette 0 Teka Oil Control Mat Powder over the BB cream, I attribute the sebum control to the BB cream and not the powder. The K-Palette powder, while cute and handy, doesn’t control oil production as well as MAC Blot Powder, in my experience. It does have a nice finish and pairs wonderfully with this lovely BB cream, so I will be using this combination a lot!

    Hi Mag!

What type of Etude House brush you’re using in this entry?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Melon,

It’s a small foundation brush or a brush for cream shadows; I can’t really remember. The head is smaller than most foundation brushes but it’s made of synthetic hair.

    Hi Makeupstash

i tried skin79 gold but it’s too dark for my NC 20 tone. skin79 has many BB ranges like hotpink etc do you know which one offers the lightest shade?

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Tiffany,

I’m not sure but you could try using the BB powders over the BB creams to lighten the tone. Good luck!

  • Iza says:

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Iza,

Yes, I have and I like it a lot. :) It’s more moist than the Hot Pink but wears well too. I really like the finish and the shade of both. I haven’t tried the compacts, so I can’t comment, sorry.

I’m new to BB creams and I wanted to try one because I don’t want to wear foundations cause it’s too heavy but i have acne scars :\
so i’m wondering which brand is the best? I’m an NC30 and the BB creams look so light and i’m not sure which is my best bet.

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Gina,

I’m an NC25 veering towards NC30. What helps is using a darker powder to set the BB creams. The BB creams from Skin79 have good coverage, as do the Dr G. ones.

Hi Gina! I’m new to BB creams and I’ve been dying to try one out because I hate the feeling of foundation on my skin (too heavy). I have no idea what my exact skin shade is (I can give a picture though).

I was wondering if this BB cream really has good oil control and if it would be too dark for me. Some people have been saying it doesn’t work and I have oily/combination skin so I’m a little worried. I’m a little on the pale side but I’m Asian so I guess it’s an advantage.

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Yuuki-chan,

It has adequate oil control but I would suggest you use a primer and a good setting powder, if you want it to last even longer. I wouldn’t know if it would suit you colour-wise but if it helps, it’s ok on my MAC NC25 skintone. :)

hi melon! ive a problem wd the bb cream, its too white on me. is there any solution u can suggest? i use revlon photo ready in medium husband said i look like a ghost after applyng this on me

    • makeupmag says:

      Hi Candy,

You need to find the right shade, unless you’re willing to use a darker powder to set the BB cream.

  • candy says:

oops im sorry to address melon,i mean “hi makeup mag” hehe

Hi mag, I know this convo has stopped bout a year ago, but I was wondering something about your particular hot pink bb cream…you said you received it from a skin 79 party so you would think it must be authentic. But Ive done a lot of research on fake vs. real skin79 Hot pink bb cream, and after looking at yours I instantly without a doubt thought it to be a fake. The real ones, I learned, have no silver bottoms and also, the front of real bottle’s “skin75” logo is at the very bottom of it- not a 1/2 inch or so like the fake ones. Maybe you figured this out already or maybe I’m wrong and it is real. If you know for sure either way can you let me know; I’m just trying to learn more and gain some new insight on fakes vs reals Thanks a ton! Ps I got a fake skin79 hot pink about a month ago and I actually like it better than my lioellie triple the function cream! I’ve never tried the authentic one and am dying to try it but weary.. I just can’t figure out who’s selling fakes or real ones. Guess that will be my next thing to research!

      Hi Jackie,

The one I have was given by the official distributor of Skin79 in Singapore. Perhaps they’ve modified the packaging since then. Let me check with them and I’ll get back to you. :)
